Afternoon all. Hope you are all doing well?
I thought I would update you on some of the teams recent activities, which are wide and varied!
Our PCs recently completed an operation targeting poor driving, which included people with no insurance, theft of motor vehicles and all things cars! They found a few ‘LOS’ vehicles (Lost Or Stolen) and pulled over too many people who think insurance is an ‘added option’. Spoiler alert, it isn't. It's compulsory!
The PCSOs recently were awarded for their work in Morden Town Centre targeting people that think the food in Greggs and other shops is free. Another spoiler… it needs paying for! We've brought down shoplifting by 41%, which is a shop based stat, not just ours!
Today, we've been mainly dealing with ‘ASB’ (Anti-Social Behaviour) and some neighbour disputes. Whilst low level, we like stopping these early so that they don't escalate. There's nothing worse than being annoyed where you live!
On a lighter note, we stopped in to “Tasty Treats”, a new restaurant in Morden, to say welcome to the town as they opened today. We ended up having a bite to eat with the Mayor! (Food was awesome in our opinion, but other restaurants are available!)
Some much needed patrolling around Morden Hall Park after some young people were seen scrawling some horrible words in the recent snow and we wanted to see if we knew them to have a polite word. It's also a lovely stroll, so win win.
Hope these updates are interesting and show you behind the scenes of what we do. (There's obviously more to it, but we have to keep it ‘vague but informative!’)
